Economic Development Initiatives
A healthy and vibrant local economy is dependent upon increased opportunities for quality jobs. With this goal in mind, Sanofi Pasteur not only embraces efforts at its own site, but also supports community-wide economic development initiatives, as well as the local colleges and universities that prepare the next generation of innovative workers.
Since 2003, Sanofi Pasteur has sponsored the Great Valley Technology Alliance (GVTA) in its Business Plan Competition. This competition offers local college students a chance to win funding and in-kind services to start their technology-based businesses.
Since 2000, Phil Hosbach has served on the board of directors for Pocono Medical Center and Pocono Health Systems. Additionally, earlier this year he was appointed by the Monroe County Commissioners to the Monroe County 2030 advisory group, thereby working with other community leaders helping to identify a strong strategic approach for the future growth of the county.
